Alliance Jiu Jitsu has a pioneering group class methodology that builds the foundational strength for a lifelong journey… for the long haul. Alliance is the most successful team in competition history, winning the IBJJF adult male team world championship title 15 times. Professor Snow has studied closely with all three of the Alliance founders, trained at all of the Headquarters in Rio, USA, and Sao Paulo. He has certified in all the levels of adults and kids courses available.
If you’re a beginner and just starting out then 2-4 times per week will be enough to see results and allow you to adjust.
You’ll be sore some days, so allow yourself recovery days between training sessions at first – over the course of the following months work up towards 5 days per week if you want to maximize! Sign up today!
We strictly adhere to the Alliance Methodology for both youth and adults. Youth will attend according to their age group and level of experience, adults will attend based on their experience alone. For example, adult students start in the fundamentals program or with 3 private intro lessons. Once the student receives the 2nd stripe on the white belt, he/ she is eligible to attend the intermediate level classes, which focus on more complex techniques, drills, specific training, and “live rolls.” Each stripe demands a minimum of 30 classes each as a minimum requirement. After 120 classes, students are eligible for the fourth stripe and access to the advanced level classes, where more demanding training takes place.
Intro classes are 30 minutes for one-on-one lessons. Fundamentals group classes are 50-60 minutes. Intermediate level classes are 60 minutes. Advanced level classes are 1 hour and 10 to 1 hour and 30 minutes. Students line up at the beginning of the class and wait to be addressed by the instructor. Once the class commences, follow the instructor’s guidance but be sure to communicate with him/ her any limitations you are facing either mentally or phsyically, so that accommodations can be made when necessary.
Yes, and we take it very seriously. Not only do we background check our instructors, but the majority are chosen from relationships that have been cultivated over decades. We also highly encourage transparency, open communication, and honesty. We ask that our students and staff not hesitate to speak out when uncomfortable with any aspect of the training or environment, especially any potentially inappropriate behavior by students or staff. We have a zero-tolerance policy. Anyone in violation will be investigated and removed with decisive action immediately.
